Born and raised in Choctaw County, Oklahoma, Chance is a third-generation Oklahoma attorney who brings disciplined preparation, courtroom steadiness, and an unrelenting commitment to his clients—whether the matter is resolved through careful negotiation or tried to a jury.
Chance earned his Bachelor of Science from Friends University in 2014, where he competed in collegiate baseball on scholarship and was named KCAC Academic All-Conference. He received his Juris Doctor from Oklahoma City University School of Law in May 2019 as a Merit Scholar. While in law school, Chance pursued rigorous advocacy training and practical experience, including representing OCU on its NALSA moot court team in 2018 and 2019, completing the American Indian Wills Clinic externship, and participating in Oxford’s Mastering Trial Advocacy program at St. Hugh’s College. He also earned OCU’s American Indian Law Certificate, received the Elmer J. Wilkerson Award for excellence in American Indian Law, and was selected to the Order of Barristers for distinguished oral and written advocacy.
After graduation, Chance began his practice at Whitten Burrage in Oklahoma City, working with All Rise! founder Austin Vance. There, he represented tribal clients and worked on complex civil matters, including bad-faith insurance litigation. In 2021, Chance joined the Oklahoma Indigent Defense System office in Lawton alongside Debbie Maddox, where he sharpened his trial skills in high-volume, high-stakes criminal practice. Over four years, he handled nearly 900 criminal cases in Comanche County—ranging from traffic and misdemeanor matters to serious felonies—and served as trial counsel in cases including homicide and other violent-felony prosecutions, pursuing dismissals, acquittals, mistrials, and favorable resolutions when the facts and law demanded it.

Chance also serves as a board member of the Comanche/Cotton County Drug and Mental Health Court. He is deeply committed to recovery-oriented advocacy—helping clients navigate the criminal process while also addressing the real-life barriers that often sit beneath it, including substance-use disorders and mental health challenges. Chance is proud to serve clients across Oklahoma with a practice grounded in preparation, candor, and the steady conviction that every person is entitled to a serious defense and a fair day in court.
